7th Circ. Halts Environmentalists' Challenge Of Highway Project

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 7:03 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit on Tuesday denied an appeal challenging a plan to extend a portion of Interstate 69 in southwest Indiana, ruling that the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers properly weighed the environmental impact of the multibillion-dollar project.

In a unanimous decision, the appeals court upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Hoosier Environmental Council and Citizens for Appropriate Rural Roads.
