Obama Picks Veteran Labor Attys For NLRB

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 8:20 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama reportedly selected a pair of veteran labor lawyers to replace two prior recess appointees as nominees to the National Labor Relations Board on Tuesday, as part of a deal that averted a Senate showdown over the filibuster.

The president intends to nominate Nancy Schiffer, a retired associate general counsel at the AFL-CIO, and Kent Hirozawa, who currently serves as chief counsel to NLRB Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
