EU High Court Upholds €64M Dow Rubber Cartel Fine

Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 2:26 PM EDT) -- The European Union's high court on Thursday kept in place a €64.6 million ($84.4 million) fine against Dow Chemical Co. for fixing rubber prices, shooting down the company's arguments that EU regulators treated it differently from others involved in the cartel.

The European Court of Justice rejected Dow's appeal, which sought to reduce fines imposed by the European Commission after the regulator found the company liable for taking part in a conspiracy to fix prices on two types of synthetic rubber used to make tires....
