Publisher Brings Playboy Licensing Suit To High Court

Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 7:09 PM EDT) -- A Mexican publisher has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review a ruling that it had violated a licensing agreement with Playboy Enterprises Inc., seeking a finding that the agreement contained ambiguities regarding which parties were liable for royalties for the circulation of Playboy in Mexico.

Javier Sanchez-Campuzano, who headed up the distributor Editorial Caballero SA, filed a petition for writ of certiorari on July 10 on behalf of himself and several companies involved in the distribution.
