Law360, New York (February 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Three companies that once manufactured lead paint are seeking to have a jury verdict against them overturned. They argued in briefs filed Thursday with the Rhode Island Supreme Court that there was not sufficient evidence to find them liable for causing any public nuisance, and that the jury was improperly instructed.
Sherwin-Williams Co., Millennium Holdings LLC and NL Industries Inc lost a groundbreaking tort suit over lead paint contamination in February 2006, when a jury found them liable for creating public nuisance.
