Chevron, Shell Among Oil Giants Hit With Asbestos Claims

Law360, New York (July 23, 2013, 7:03 PM EDT) -- Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., Shell Oil Co. and a defendant class of other top oil companies spent two decades exposing oil rig workers to asbestos contamination, according to a lawsuit removed to federal court Monday.

The oil companies knowingly used defective drilling mud products that contained the chemical, the suit says, which led to regular exposure to asbestos for the workers.
