Bankruptcy Puts Excel-Invidos Patent Spat On Hold

Law360, New York (February 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankrupt patent-holding company Excel Innovations Inc. has won a bid to reopen its patent infringement battle with now-insolvent Indivos Corp. over tokenless biometric computer systems, but it won’t be allowed to pursue the claims while the technology firm’s bankruptcy is pending.

In a ruling handed down Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge Maxine M. Chesney granted Excel’s motion to reopen the case based on a Nov. 5 order by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California....
