Transocean Can't Shake Deepwater Doc Subpoenas: 5th Circ.

Law360, Los Angeles (July 23, 2013, 9:45 PM EDT) -- The Fifth Circuit on Tuesday refused to stay an order for Transocean Ltd. to give the U.S. Chemical Safety Board information related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, saying the district court didn’t abuse its discretion in denying the company's request for a stay while it appeals.

The decision comes two months after Transocean urged a Texas federal judge to postpone the deadline to turn over the information, arguing the deadline would render moot its appeal of the order to cough up the materials. Transocean is...
