Pa. High Court To Settle Confession Of Judgment Procedures

Law360, Philadelphia (July 25, 2013, 3:29 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to weigh in on a dispute over whether a Susquehanna Bancshares Inc. acquisition improperly executed a $10.7 million confession of judgment against a developer who defaulted on a 2008 construction loan.

The justices said they would hear an appeal brought by a group of entities led by Grove Estates LP on whether the Superior Court erred in a December 2012 ruling rejecting arguments that the confession of judgment by Graystone Bank did not include a valid warrant of attorney...
