Southeast Asian Steel Pipe Hurting US Industry, ITC Says

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 2:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that imports of welded steel pressure pipe from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam harmed domestic producers of the goods, the agency said in a notice set to run in Friday's Federal Register.

After investigating allegations that welded stainless steel pressure pipe imported from the three Southeast Asian countries were being sold in the U.S. at artificially low prices, the ITC reached a preliminary conclusion that the pipe imports were harming American producers, according to the federal register notice.
