Rival Drug Data Co. Hits IMS Health With Antitrust Lawsuit

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 5:13 PM EDT) -- IMS Health Inc. was sued Wednesday in Pennsylvania federal court by a competitor who claims the world's largest supplier of pharmaceutical and health care industry-related data has consolidated its grip on the market by engaging in business practices that violate U.S. antitrust laws.

Philadelphia-based Symphony Health Solutions alleges IMS has entered into exclusive long-term agreements with pharmacies and other health care providers, preventing would-be competitors from accessing “a substantial percentage” of U.S. drug and health care data.
