SEC Hits Investor Relations Exec With Insider Trading Suit

Law360, Houston (July 26, 2013, 7:54 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission launched a civil enforcement suit in Texas federal court Friday, alleging the former top executive of a Houston-based investor relations firm used his corporate clients’ confidential information to profit through insider trading.

While serving as CEO of Dennard Lascar Associates, Stephen B. Gray violated securities laws by using his unique access to his client’s nonpublic data to position himself to later profit through stock transactions, according to David Woodcock, Director of the SEC’s Fort Worth Regional Office.
