SecurityPoint Settles Airport Checkpoint Ad Suit

By Ben James (February 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A patent suit involving companies vying for the right to put ads on plastic bins used to move passengers' belongings through metal detectors at airport security checkpoints has been settled.

SecurityPoint Media LLC dropped the suit it filed in March 2007 against advertising sales outfit The Adason Group LLC, Adason's executive consultant The Connor Group and Stephen Connor. The defendants conceded that the patent at issue in the case, which relates to plastic bins capable of displaying advertising, was valid and infringed.
