$6.8M Fee Award Order Vacated In Sulfur Fuel MDL

Law360, New York (February 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has vacated a district court's order approving the allocation of $6.875 million in attorneys' fees among more than six dozen plaintiffs lawyers in a multidistrict product liability action brought against Shell Oil Co. by motorists who bought sulfur-tainted fuel. The district court used flawed procedures in signing off on the award, the appeals panel said.
