UK University Won't Publish Luxury Car Security Research

Law360, New York (July 30, 2013, 3:38 PM EDT) -- The U.K.’s University of Birmingham said Tuesday it won’t publish a research paper that exposes security flaws in several elite automobile makes including Bentley and Lamborghini after a U.K. court imposed a temporary injunction on the paper.

Researchers from the University of Birmingham and Radboud University in the Netherlands had allegedly figured out how to bypass the so-called Megamos Crypto algorithm, which allows cars to verify the identity of the ignition key, The Guardian said.
