Sen. Demands Chemical Safety Bill Leave Power To States

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 4:05 PM EDT) -- Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., the chair of the Senate environmental committee, vowed Wednesday that she will not support bipartisan legislation to overhaul the country's chemical safety law unless it is amended to give states more power to regulate chemicals.

Boxer made the remarks during a Committee on Environment and Public Works hearing on S. 1009, the Chemical Safety Improvement Act. The bill, introduced in May by Sens.
