Victims Have Their Say In BP Refinery Blast Suit

Law360, New York (February 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The victims of BP Plc's 2005 Texas City, Texas, refinery blast will get their chance to argue against a government plea bargain, after a federal judge on Monday told all sides to submit more briefs over why the $50 million agreement shouldn't go through.

U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal of the Southern District of Texas decided to delay accepting the controversial plea agreement after an over six-hour court hearing in which several victims of the blast came forth to speak their minds.
