US Releases Some Info On NSA Phone Monitoring Program

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 1:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday declassified documents relating to the collection of telephone metadata under the Patriot Act, saying the release of the information is in the public’s interest.

The documents include an April 25 primary order from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court approving the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s request for call detail records and metadata from a company, the name of which was redacted, on a daily basis.
