FTC Commish Urges China To Play It Straight On Antitrust

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 4:25 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission's Maureen Ohlhausen told a Chinese audience Wednesday that she hoped China's antitrust agencies would become more transparent and shy away from factoring concerns beyond competition into their decision-making while applauding the progress the country had made so far.

China's antitrust agencies seem to have bypassed some of the worst problems that plagued U.S. enforcers in the early years of American antitrust law, and Commissioner Ohlhausen encouraged China to focus on improving transparency, international cooperation and eliminating noncompetition issues from its antitrust analysis....
