UPMC To Pay $1M To Settle Medicare FCA Allegations

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 5:15 PM EDT) -- The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center will pay nearly $1 million to settle False Claims Act allegations that its home health unit billed Medicare for services without providing proof that physicians or authorized practitioners performed the services, the U.S. Department of Justice said Wednesday.
