Study Warns Of Potential Hazard In Baby Products

Law360, New York (February 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Parents may want to reconsider the casual use of baby powders, lotions and shampoos on their infants after researchers said in a study released Monday that the practice exposes children to chemical compounds that may affect reproductive development.

The study, published in the February edition of Pediatrics, the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, observed that compounds called phthalates were found in babies whose parents reported using typical baby care products.
