No Verdict After 1st Day Of Deliberations In Tourre Case

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 6:02 PM EDT) -- A federal jury failed to reach a verdict Wednesday in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s fraud case against former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. trader Fabrice Tourre, following the first day of deliberations.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest sent jurors home at 5 p.m. The jury had begun deliberations at about 11 a.m. after the judge gave them instructions on the law.

Both sides presented closing arguments Tuesday.
