Suit Trashes Allied Waste's Wage-And-Hour Practices

Law360 (February 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former employee of Allied Waste Services of North America LLC filed a putative collective action against the company on Friday, claiming that he routinely worked more than 40 hours a week for Allied Waste without being paid the federally mandated premium rate.

The lawsuit was lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on behalf of named plaintiff Marlon Tellez, who performed sanitation and/or trash collection work for the defendant in Florida's Miami-Dade County.
