Pa. High Court To Hear S. Philly Shopping Center Challenge

Law360, Philadelphia (August 5, 2013, 5:42 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court announced Monday that it would hear a Philadelphia civic association’s appeal of a commercial zoning variance allowing a proposed controversial shopping center to be built along a historically industrial city corridor.

The high court will hear the South of South Street Neighborhood Association’s challenge to the variance granted by the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment allowing a property owner to turn an abandoned, one-block industrial facility in South Philadelphia into a shopping center.
