White House Floats Cybersecurity Adoption Incentives

Law360, New York (August 7, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- The White House on Tuesday released a list of possible incentives — such as priority consideration for government grants and liability protections — that could be offered to critical infrastructure operators that agree to adopt cybersecurity standards being created under a recent executive order.

The preliminary list stems from reports submitted to the White House by the departments of Homeland Security, Commerce and Treasury that identified eight incentives that could be established under existing authority or through legislative action to help encourage operators of critical infrastructure...
