Wilson Sporting Co. Strikes Out In Bat Patent Case

Law360, New York (February 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a swing and a miss, Wilson Sporting Goods Co. has failed to convince a federal appeals court that a rival firm’s softball and baseball bats infringed its technology.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Wednesday found a district court properly determined that no jury could find Miken Composites LLC’s bats violated Wilson’s patent and upheld the decision granting Miken summary judgment for noninfringement.
