Jack In The Box Settles Trademark Fight With Chipotle

Law360, New York (August 8, 2013, 3:16 PM EDT) -- Jack in the Box Inc. reached a settlement Wednesday with Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. after the Mexican food chain accused the fast food franchise of infringing on its “chipotle” trademarks to sell chicken sandwiches.

Chipotle hit Jack in the Box with the suit in September, alleging violations of the Lanham Act and Colorado state law. The complaint alleged the fast food chain was infringing on Chipotle's marks to advertise its Jack in the Box Chipotle Chicken Club Combo meal.
