6th Circ. Forces Findlay To Make $10M Pension Payment

Law360, New York (August 9, 2013, 9:19 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit required Findlay Truck Lines to pay $10 million to its employee pension fund, overruling threats the company made in a labor dispute to cut off contributions to the fund, according to a decision Friday that partially overturned a lower court’s injunction.

Findlay, locked in a battle with its union, stopped paying money into the Central States Southeast & Southwest Areas Pension Fund in June 2011 when the union went on strike, according to the decision. That triggered a fee for noncontribution under the...
