JPML Won't Carve Out New MDL From BP Litigation

Law360, Los Angeles (August 9, 2013, 10:56 PM EDT) -- The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Friday refused a request to carve out a new MDL to cover claims by parties that were excluded or opted out of settlements with BP PLC over losses suffered in the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and spill, saying the request was extraordinary and unmerited.
