Labor Dept. Extends FMLA Coverage To Same-Sex Spouses

Law360, New York (August 12, 2013, 9:57 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor issued new guidance on Friday clarifying that same-sex couples are now eligible to take time off work to care for an ailing spouse in light of the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark decision that struck down a key provision of the Defense of Marriage Act.
