SEC Settles With Lawyer Accused In Pump-And-Dump

Law360, New York (February 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A California attorney has settled the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's formal accusation that he fabricated legal opinion letters to further a pump-and-dump scheme carried out by two Arizona traders.

The SEC announced Thursday that Kenneth M. Christison would resolve the commission's civil enforcement action, which found him liable under Section 5 of the Securities Exchange Act for enabling the traders' fraud of selling securities that had not been formally registered.
