Enviros Sue Feds Over Logging Plan's Wildlife Risks

Law360, New York (August 13, 2013, 2:36 PM EDT) -- Three conservation groups on Monday sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service alleging that a 50-year plan approved by the agencies for Fruit Growers Supply Co. to conduct logging activities in Northern California will harm endangered owls and salmon.

The Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Klamath Forest Alliance say that the conservation plan will accelerate logging on 152,000 acres of forest in Siskiyou County, Calif., and grant the company “take permits” to harm or kill...
