Pa. Rep. Seeks To Repeal New Gas Lease-Pooling Law

Law360, Philadelphia (August 12, 2013, 7:23 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state representative Monday announced plans to push legislation repealing a recent law allowing oil and gas operators to easily pool adjoining leases for drilling purposes.

Rep. Michele Brooks, R-Crawford, seeks to undo the consequences of the lease-pooling amendment that was attached to a bill obligating natural gas companies operating in the state to standardize all deductions listed on royalty check payment stubs. The bill was signed into law by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett in July.
