Taco Bell Wraps Up OT Pay Suit For $2.5M

Law360, New York (August 13, 2013, 1:58 PM EDT) -- Taco Bell Corp. has reached a $2.5 million settlement of a collective action alleging the company wrongly categorized assistant general managers as supervisors and denied them overtime pay, according to a joint motion filed in Colorado federal court Monday.

The parties urged U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen M. Tafoya to approve the agreement, saying the deal would provide the employees an immediate award and eliminate obstacles both sides faced as the case headed to trial, including Taco Bell's "right to depose up to 48 plaintiffs," its expected...
