Fired BP Claims Atty Fights For Reinstatement

Law360, New York (August 13, 2013, 7:43 PM EDT) -- An attorney who was terminated from the claims administration office for BP PLC’s settlement with businesses affected by the Deepwater Horizon disaster on Friday requested to be reinstated and has said BP is liable for creating an “illusion of corruption kickbacks and fraud.”

Attorney Christine Reitano, who was terminated for cause by BP claims administrator Patrick Juneau in June after her husband Lionel H. Sutton III was accused of referring claims to a New Orleans law firm in return for a piece of the settlement payouts,...
