Jury Acquits Texas Atty In Judicial Corruption Case

Law360, Houston (August 14, 2013, 5:04 PM EDT) -- A federal jury on Tuesday found a Texas attorney not guilty of participating with a disgraced district attorney and a former state judge in a kickback scheme aimed at soliciting bribes from criminal defendants in exchange for more favorable prosecutions.

On the sixth and final day of trial, jurors deliberated just three hours before acquitting Eduardo “Eddie” Lucio on two racketeering charges and three counts of aiding and abetting extortion.
