Scholastic Yanks Pedia-Lax Ads From Site After Probe

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 8:37 PM EDT) -- Scholastic Inc. has agreed to remove Pedia-Lax advertisements from areas on its website that children are likely to visit after the Children's Advertising Review Unit challenged the placement of the ads, the industry watchdog said Friday.

Through its routine monitoring practices, CARU was alerted to advertising for Pedia-Lax products, which are designed to regulate children's digestive systems, on the “Super Animal Genius” site run by the popular children's book publisher and distributor.
