LG Says Commerce Miscalculated Washing Machine Duties

Law360, New York (August 19, 2013, 3:16 PM EDT) -- LG Electronics Inc. told the U.S. Court of International Trade Friday that the U.S. Department of Commerce failed to follow one of its own regulations when determining an anti-dumping duty imposed on LG's imported washing machines, asking the court to order that the rate be recalculated.

In finding that South Korea-based LG had sold its dishwashers at below fair value to specific customers during certain time periods, the department improperly ignored its own targeted dumping regulation, according to LG, which sued the U.S. after the duties...
