Insurer Ditched Client Accused Of Cell IP Theft, Suit Says

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 4:37 PM EDT) -- AU Electronics Inc. slapped Harleysville Group Inc. with a declaratory suit Tuesday, saying the insurer must provide defense costs in a pair of suits brought by T-Mobile USA Inc. and Sprint Nextel Corp. over an alleged conspiracy to unlawfully purchase and resell altered smartphones.

The suit by the Illinois-based AU Electronics and its owner Adnan Vadria claims that no valid exclusion exists that would prevent Harleysville from covering the electronics wholesaler's defense against claims it violated Sprint and T-Mobile's trademarks and flouted the Computer Fraud and...
