Ill. Regs OK Landmark $1B Ameren Transmission Line

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 5:06 PM EDT) -- Illinois regulators have signed off on plans for Ameren Corp.'s largest investment in three decades, a $1.1 billion high-voltage transmission line that would stretch 400 miles across central Illinois to the Indiana border and help bring alternative energy to customers, the company said Wednesday.

Members of the Illinois Commerce Commission, charged with balancing consumer interests and public utility development plans, voted 3-1 in favor of the proposed framework.
