Bard Inc. reached a settlement Wednesday in the second bellwether case in multidistrict litigation over the company's allegedly defective vaginal mesh implants, less than a week after it was hit with a $2 million verdict in the first bellwether.
The first day of trial was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, but after a 45-minute delay, U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin acknowledged that a settlement had been reached and dismissed the jury.
