Toshiba Wins New Trial In $465M Dispute With Lexar

Law360, New York (December 4, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a victory for Toshiba Corp., the Japanese electronics maker has won the reversal of a $465.4 million verdict awarded to Lexar Media Inc. in a trade secrets dispute over flash-memory technology.

Superior Court Judge Jack Komar in San Jose on Friday ordered a new trial to determine damages in the case. Komar didn't overturn the jury's finding that Toshiba was liable for trade-secret theft.

The verdict was the fifth-largest in the U.S. this year and one of the largest in any intellectual property dispute ever....
