UK Competition Court Says Reform Plans Miss The Mark

Law360, New York (August 26, 2013, 7:13 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s competition court on Friday criticized the government's plan to streamline the process for antitrust and regulatory appeals, warning that the changes sought to relax the standards of review at the same time the European Union is raising its own.

The Competition Appeal Tribunal responded to a proposal the Department for Business Innovation and Skills put out in June trying to simplify and speed up the process for appeals both from competition authorities and from the country's regulators for telecommunications and other industries.
