H&R Block Asserts 2 Patents Against Jackson Hewitt

Law360, New York (February 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- H&R Block Tax Services Inc. has accused Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. of infringing two patents with products and services related to loading clients' refund anticipation loan proceeds onto a prepaid Visa card.

H&R Block filed its complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that since 2005 Jackson Hewitt has been selling financial services and products through its ipower card that infringe on U.S. Patent Numbers 7,072,862 and 7,177,829.
