Chinese Drywall Co. Fights Lennar's Suit In Fla. Appeals Court

Law360, Miami (August 27, 2013, 7:20 PM EDT) -- A Chinese drywall maker on Tuesday asked a Florida appeals court to vacate a default judgment against it in favor of Lennar Homes LLC, saying the court's jurisdiction should not extend to its subsidiary, which made and shipped the allegedly defective drywall at issue.

Joe Cyr of Hogan Lovells (US) LLP argued before a panel at Florida's Third District Court of Appeal that the default judgment against his client Taishan Gypsum Co. Ltd. should be vacated and Lennar's suit dismissed, because TG never sold or distributed...
