SanDisk Loses ITC Complaint

Law360, New York (December 6, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a setback for storage maker SanDisk, the U.S. International Trade Commission has affirmed a previous finding that STMicroelectronics NV didn't infringe on parts of the company's patent for flash memory chips.

SanDisk said Monday it plans to appeal the order and the finding of non-infringement.

SanDisk filed a complaint Oct. 15, 2004, with the International Trade Commission alleging that STMicroelectronics' NAND flash memory chips infringed on one of its patents and sought an order to exclude the products from importation into the U.S.
