Ex-DAP Employees Cop Pleas In FCPA Kickback Cases

Law360, New York (August 29, 2013, 6:29 PM EDT) -- Two former employees of New York-based broker-dealer Direct Access Partners LLC on Thursday pled guilty to involvement in a scheme to pay kickbacks to officials at two Venezuelan state banks.

Tomas Alberto Clarke Bethancourt, a former executive vice president at DAP, and Ernesto Lujan, a former managing partner at the broker-dealer, pled guilty to six counts each of conspiracy, violating Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, money laundering and other charges.
