Sunoco Wins Pa. PUC Approval For Gas Pipeline Project

Law360, Philadelphia (August 30, 2013, 3:24 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission gave a Sunoco Inc. subsidiary the green light Thursday to abandon a section of pipeline used to carry petroleum products westward from a Philadelphia-area refinery and incorporate it into a $600 million project aimed at transporting Marcellus Shale gas eastward.

Sunoco Logistics Partners LP’s Mariner East pipeline project cleared a major regulatory hurdle as the commissioners agreed that abandoning in-state transportation of refined petroleum products on the pipeline would not significantly impact customers in the area.
