Twitter's General Counsel Steps Down

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 5:34 PM EDT) -- Twitter Inc.’s general counsel said Friday he is stepping down to pursue other interests, leaving behind a company that was among the first to disclose the U.S. government’s requests for user information and that insisted on informing users when their data was sought by law enforcement.

In tweets and on his blog, Alex Macgillivray praised Twitter and his co-workers and said he will be replaced as general counsel by Vijaya Gadde, who he said has most recently been managing Twitter’s corporate and international legal work....
