5th Circ. Revives Ex-Stanford Employees' Arbitration Bid

Law360, New York (September 3, 2013, 5:28 PM EDT) -- The Fifth Circuit on Friday revived attempts by convicted fraudster Robert Allen Stanford's former employees to send a court-appointed receiver’s clawback claims against them to an arbitrator.

The appeals court reversed a ruling by a Texas federal judge, who in 2011 denied the employees' motion to compel arbitration of claims brought by receiver Ralph S. Janvey, who is seeking to recover funds tied to Stanford's $7 billion Ponzi scheme.
